"Carefree Waves" 2020

watercolor character illustration inspired by the freedom of the ocean waves.

Before I created this piece I traveled to the ocean and painted sketches, trying to depict the movement of the waves.

In order to create more freedom in her "wavy hair" I started to paint her outside while it was raining:) She is one of my "rain-painting^^"

This was the first version I made:) The longer "wave-hair" implies more power, more confidence, I love this version two. With the "shorter waves" she seemed to let go of the pressure, and became really care free^^
